Ok hear me out. Kakao/purseforum/reddit but without promoters
Introduction
When you’re doing research about treatments in Korea, it’s important to talk to other foreigners who have gone through this experience or are going through it now.
Previously, we recommended joining KakaoTalk groups to chat and share knowledge about clinics/treatments with fellow foreigners.
However, we realized that these groups are also flooded with Korean promoters and their shady practices (e.g. misinformation, paid reviews, etc) and it gets confusing to follow which one is a promoter and which is not…
So, together with many authentic members of the community, we decided to come up with a modern solution.
A better community
In an attempt to create a true, trustworthy foreigner-only community, We've built a chat app with custom protections to weed out malicious promoters/agencies/brokers (based on everyone’s feedback):
- Phone number authentication (private only to you) that blocks Korean numbers from signing up
- As well as being blocked in the Korean App Stores
- Immutable usernames
- One account per phone # per device
- IP address tracking & enforcement
- Invite-only to non-Koreans
Goals for this community
The app requires an invite from a member to join. The goal is to keep our community exclusive, safe and promoter-free. <3
